According to data released by Eurostat, during the first 10 months of 2011, exports of 27 EU countries to China increased by 21% compared to the same period in 2010. The growth of imports, compared to the same period in the previous year, amounted to 5%. The growth of EU exports to China totaled 21% in the first 10 months of 2011 compared with the corresponding period in the previous year, Xinhua reported. According to data, the volume of European Union’s exports to China increased from 92 billion euros to 112 billion euros over the first 10 months of last year compared to the same period in 2010. Imports from China exceeded 306.5 billion euros. In the EU’s total exports to China, Germany accounted for 48% followed by France, Italy and the UK with 10%, 7%, and 8% respectively. At the same time, Germany is also China’s largest importer, accounting for 22% of total EU imports from China followed by the Netherlands with 17%. The UK and Italy accounted for 13% and 10%.
