Agriculture minister: Ukraine needs to resow 2mn ha of winter crops in spring

Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk noted the necessity of reseeding 2 million hectares of winter crops in Ukraine in the spring.
According to him, such a state of winter crops is due to weather conditions that had prevailed last autumn and winter.
In this regard, the agriculture ministry recommended that farm producers in the regions increase areas of spring corn and barley, and because of the need for additional quantities of seeds the ministry initiated the proposal to reduce VAT rates for corn.
Earlier, minister Prysiazhniuk said that UAH 20 million had been provided in the state budget for a possible reseeding of winter crops.
