Ukraine in July this year will export about 12 million tons of grain. This forecast was voiced by Leonid Kozachenko, the President of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC).
"We can export 25-26 million tons, but we are hampered by lack of means of transporting these products. The railway now provides somewhere half of the required amount. At the moment we are short of wagons - 50%, and this creates conditions in which we can export 1.5 (million tons), at best - 2 million tons (of grain) a month," said the expert.
A reminder that earlier the State Statistics Committee had reported that the balance of grain in Ukrainian farm companies as of December 1, 2011 increased by 63% compared with December 1, 2010.
