Russia exports 19 million tons of grain-Zubkov

Russia has exported 19 million tons of grain, First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zhubkov told journalists.
"At present, Russia has already exported about 19 million tons of grain," he said. "This is a very good index. We just haven't had such an index over the last years." According to Zubkov, 80 countries of the world, including Bahrain, buy Russian grain. As the deputy prime minister stressed, Middle East countries are among priority directions of our exports. At present, their share amounts to about 30 percent of all supplied volumes of grain.
"Last year we supplied here (to Bahrain) the first batch of Russian grain. It has never happened before, Zubkov added. "This is an experimental batch of about 10,000 tons, it's not plenty, but it's very important to start. It turned out to be in demand and we have a good perspective to consolidate our position at this market in future."
According to the deputy prime minister, alongside with grain, we also study proposals on supplies of products of deeper processing, that is flour, to the Middle East region. As Zubkov said, last year Russia also supplied more than 200,000 tons to other countries.
The deputy prime minister stressed that Russia intends to continue increasing these indices. "At the same time, we'll expand the range of Russian food export, switch over to products with a high value added tax, which will enable us to promote the development of our processing industry," he said.
Zubkov added that "the international exhibition Green Week, which opens in Berlin today, is one of good possibilities to present our products." "According to my instruction, Russia's regions will widely present at the exhibition products of the agro-industrial complex, hold talks with potential consumers of Russian products," he said in conclusion.
