The Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry has introduced a discount for the transshipment of transit cargo through commercial sea ports in 2012.
The ministry's December 26 order establishes a 20% discount on the transshipment of bulk mineral construction materials cargo at the Berdyansk Commercial Sea Port (in 2011, the discount was 25%). The document also provides for a 25% discount on the transshipment of coal and metallic ore, a 30% discount on pig iron and a 40% discount on sulfur at the Ilyichevsk Commercial Sea Port (the same discounts provided in 2011).
The ministry will keep the 18% discount on the board-to-board transshipment of grain and seeds, as well as the 30% discount on the transshipment of pig iron and ferrous metals at the Mariupol Commercial Sea Port. It will also maintain the 30% discount on the transshipment of ferrous metals, iron, cereals, grain, iron ore and raw sugar at the Odessa Commercial Sea Port.
The ministry set a 25% discount on the transshipment of iron ore and coal at the Yuzhny Commercial Sea Port.
