Sown areas of winter crops for harvest in 2012 increased by 1.9% compared with the harvest in 2011 - up to 9,434.3 million hectares, the State Statistics Service said in a statement.
Areas of winter crops in farm companies make 7,655.6 million hectares, in households - 1,778.7 million hectares.
In particular, the acreage of wheat is 6,709.1 million hectares, rye - 317,900 hectares, barley - 1,371.4 million hectares, rape - 961,600 hectares.
According to experts, winter crops may be lost throughout 40% of crop areas. Part of the crops has not yet risen, and some crops are in poor condition due to lack of rainfall this autumn.
