A government bill has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada on making amendments into the transition provisions of the Land Code of Ukraine regarding a ban for alienation and change of the target purpose of farm lands, the aim of which is prolongation of operation of the moratorium for the purchase/sale of farm lands until January 1, 2013.

It is noted that such a norm is necessary due to the fact that the prevailing majority of norms of the law "On the State Land Cadastre" and a new wording of the law "On State Registration of Property Rights for Real Estate Property and their Restrictions" will come into force in 2013.

The submitted bill provides for setting a clear term for operation of the ban for alienation and change of the purpose of land plots, designated for agricultural production, personal farming enterprises, as well as entering a right for the land share in authorized capital of economic entities, in particular - until January 1, 2013.

As it was reported, December 9, the Parliament made the first step towards the land sale since 2013, having adopted the revised law "On the Land Market" in the first reading.
