China's foreign direct investment up 13.15% in Jan-Nov

Foreign direct investment in China rose more than 13 percent in the first 11 months of 2011, data showed Thursday, slower than the January to October period as Western countries battled economic woes.
China took $103.77 billion in the January to November period, up 13.15 percent from a year earlier, but slower than the 16 percent growth rate in the first 10 months, the commerce ministry said in a statement.
The amount of investment in November fell 9.76 percent year-on-year to $8.76 billion, the ministry said.
But the figure was higher than the $8.33 billion invested in October.
Investment from the United States plunged 23.05 percent from a year ago to $2.74 billion in the first 11 months while European investment rose an anaemic 0.29 percent to $5.98 billion.
Investment from Asian countries, in contrast, reached $89.59 billion, up 17.98 percent from a year earlier.
