Ukraine, Belarus boost trade

The trade turnover between Ukraine and Belarus for the first 9 months of this year grew by 41.3%, and for the year it could reach $6 billion, First Deputy Prime Minister / Minister of Economic Development and Trade Andriy Kliuyev said at a meeting of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Ukrainian commission for trade and economic cooperation on Thursday.
"During the first 9 months of the year, the volume of mutual trade in goods and services grew by 41.3% to nearly 4.5 billion U.S. dollars," Kliuyev said.
He clarified that the data for the 9 months are the official quarterly statistics, and noted that for the year Ukraine expects to reach a $6 billion trade turnover with Belarus.
At the same time, First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko noted that, according to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, Ukraine and Belarus reached a turnover of $5.548 billion based on 11 months of the year.
