USDA says Ukraine to export no more than 7mn tons of wheat in 2011/12 MY

The United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) has downgraded its outlook for exports of wheat from Ukraine in the 2011/12 marketing year by12.5% compared with the forecast a month ago.
According to a statement posted on the USDA website, in the 2011/12 marketing year Ukraine will be able to export about 7 million tons.
The USDA also increased its estimate of domestic consumption of wheat in Ukraine - from 12.5 million tons to 13 million tons and carry-over stocks - from 4.89 million tons to 5.39 million tons.
Overall, the USDA retained crop estimate in Ukraine in 2011 at 53.4 million tons, including wheat - 22 million tons, corn - 21 million tons. According to American experts, in addition to wheat, grain exports from Ukraine this marketing year will be 16.11 million tons, including corn - 12 million tons.
According to government forecasts, the country's grain yield this year will be 55 million tons, while in 2010 Ukraine had 39.3 million tons. The government expects this marketing year the country will export about 25 million tons of grain.
