“Germany is ready to extend the resources of the IMF, including through long-term loans”, Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäeuble told journalists after meeting with EU finance ministers.

An agreement was achieved during the meeting between the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Italy`s Prime Minister Mario Monti to take extra measures to solve the eurozone debt crisis.

One of the initiatives is to offer more financial assistance to the mostly affected countries in exchange for their determined austerity programs.
