Ukrainian companies raise USD 226.7 m through IPO since year-start

Ukrainian companies have raised USD 226.7 million through initial public offerings (IPOs) since the beginning of 2011, according to a study by DAGDA.
Companies involved in agribusiness mainly placed their shares.
From 2005 to September 2011, about 70 offerings were conducted, and issuers raised a total of USD 3.879 billion.
The study also notes that it is unnecessary to link crisis events and their influence on the situation with the holding of IPOs. "High interest rates on loans that we saw in Ukraine in October 2011 will make not only farmers, but also companies in the financial sector more actively use IPOs to raise capital," reads the report.
