Russia to pay $2.5bn for Beltransgaz within 15 workdays

Gazprom is set to transfer $2.5 billion for a 50% stake in the Belarusian gas pipeline operator Beltransgaz within 15 working days after the sales contract is signed, BelTA learnt from the State Property Committee of Belarus.
The contract was signed in Moscow on 25 November. The money will be received on the account of the Finance Ministry at the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
In line with the sales contract Gazprom pays $2.5 billion for the second 50% stake in Beltransgaz and becomes its sole owner. The first contract on the sales of 50% of shares in Betransgaz was signed between Gazprom and the State Property Committee of Belarus in May 2007. The first 50% stake in the company was sold for $2.5 billion.
