Montenegro signed the free trade agreement (FRA) with Ukraine on November 18, a press released published on the government's website informs. The contract paves the way to accession of Montenegro to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
As recalled, negotiations with Ukraine started at end-2008 after the country blocked Montenegro's accession to WTO by refusing to sign a bilateral agreement. Montenegro started its WTO membership negotiations in December 2004. Earlier this week, Montenegro concluded the free trade agreement with the European Free Trade Association (on November 14), which was one of the recommendations of the EC and is expected to back Montenegro's EU integration effort.
