Ukraine. Real GDP growth makes 5.3% in 9 months

The pace of development of the Ukrainian economy in the first nine months of this year, compared with the corresponding period last year, increased by 5.3%. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Vadym Kopylov at the enlarged meeting of the Ministry board.
"Real GDP growth was 5.3%, industrial production growth rates for the 9 months, compared with the like period last year, made 8.6%," he said.
According to him, production growth was observed in mining (+6.7%), processing (+9.6%) industries and the production and distribution of electricity, gas and water (+6.2%).
In the processing industry positive results were achieved by the industries, oriented both to the external and internal markets. "The increase in chemical and petrochemical industries was 18.2%, manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products rose by 11.7%, production of other non-metallic mineral products - 11.7%, wood processing and manufacturing of products thereof, except for furniture, - 11.7%, light industry - 9.3%," the official said.
He added that the growth of production in machine building posted 20.4%, increase in food production - 13.7%, and the growth of construction works - 11.4%.
